Here is a little history on how Glitter Dust Overlays came to be.

Two Years ago while chatting with friends in one of the groups I belong to someone said they hated the mess of using Real Glitter in sessions. That is when a Light-bulb went off over my head and I said I can make an overlay for that.

A few weeks later I introduced "Glitter Dust Overlays" That was two years ago!!! I cannot believe how fast time has gone by and the amazing impact they have had with everyone.

I adore seeing how many of my fans launched "Glitter Mini Sessions" after Michelle Voight Photography shared how she used the overlays to do an entire mini marathon with them!!! It was literally a Glitter Explosion!!!  After the first release we updated the original set twice and then came out with three additional sets to work on just about any of your photos! I just cannot stop.

I  LOVE GLITTER!

I am so excited to be releasing the newest member of the Glitter Dust Overlay Family:
 {{ CELEBRATION }}

This Collection brings an amazing amount of color to your Glitter Dust! It may just be my favorite Glitter Dust Collection yet!

The Butterfly Chase

What a wonderful journey it has been creating the series "The Butterfly Chase"

With nearly 12 complete images all composites to depict wild animals and butterflies. It was truly a remarkable series to work on.  I may have to continue this series in the future.

I really encourage every single one of you to find something that makes you happy and work on it. Don't give up.  There were several times during this series that  I wanted to quit but I did not.

Here are 3 of my favorites from the series.   The others I will be keeping a secret until this winter when I release all 12 at the same time to the public.

I had such an amazing time creating this series and so many wonderful people asked me about my process and how I created the pieces that I created a video tutorial on the Butterfly Chase: Bear in the woods.     It is shortened down compared to the original creation but it still shows you nearly every single step I took to create it.

Below is a Speed Edit to show you what you will learn from the video, or for those who just really love watching speed editing. I know I do.

For more information about the tutorials or videos you can find us on Facebook or in our Etsy Shop.

Dark Charlotte

What brought on the creation of Dark Charlotte?

I knew right away that I really wanted to do an entire scene of webs and have my model intertwined within the webbing.

Here are some behind the scene looks at the webbing.

That webbing was a challenge. Most of all because of how unprepared I was for creating the depth of field I wanted to achieve with it.

I had to create multiple levels of webbing from the back to the front and leave room in the middle for the models.  As you can see from the images above I was attaching webbing with anything I could prop up to pull it apart. My lighting, the backdrop support, even on the floor I had it pulled apart and weighted down with stacks of books.  Thank goodness this shoot was for fun.

To make matters worse when we started shooting I was down to one flash. So I bounced the flash off the wall and just hoped for the best!

Did I mention it was 3 am by this point!

We did get some great shots. I would have been far happier if I would have had a hair light but all in all I love the images.

Here is an image we shot Straight out of camera and then edited. I love the look we have achieved and really look forward to spending some more time editing this session.

I created a Full Length Video Tutorial that you can get here.

and that's a Wrap - Photography Resources

I get asked nearly the same question every day.

Where do you get your packaging?
Where do you get your photo boxes?
Where do you get your Usb's?

So I have finally taken the time to blog about those resources.

Please keep in mind that sometimes you may have to order from several companies to complete your overall look in packaging.

In the future I will link some additional blogs about creative packaging but for now I am going to stick to the basics.

My first resource when I started out was really simple. I used Nashville Wraps for almost all of my packaging, they had these great envelope sleeves and I would just slide all my portraits 8x10 and smaller into the 11x14 size bag.  I had smaller bags as well for wallets and would just fold the bag onto itself and seal it with a custom sticker I had made.
 Plus they are Eco Friendly.

My Next resource I stumbled onto as I grew my business (and this one is a biggy because I know very few people are familiar with this company as they start out.)
But
MarathonPress.   This company really changed the way I went about marketing, branding, creating mini session mailers, and they also offer some packaging like Boxes and such. (there are other companies that I order boxes through now though.)  But the 4x6 Post Card Mailers came in SO handy when I was putting customers orders together and would just add a few upcoming mini marathon post cards in there as well.

Now the remaining resources are in no particular order.
I do not prefer or favor one over the other so check each one out and find out which one you prefer the most.
